Espresso is based on the CoCCA software, the most widely deployed registry platform in the world — in use by 30 ccTLDs. These countries have each contributed to making the software secure, stable, reliable, highly automated, and very user-friendly. The software is built to the highest technical standards and meets every ICANN requirement for new TLDs. It has been fully operational for several years and almost every major registrar is connected and actively registering on the platform. Not only does this reduce spin-up time for your new TLD, it means that you won’t be spending a lot of time nursing your TLD through its growing pains.
Hosted with Minds + Machines — Strong Solution #1
As a new TLD, you can choose between our hosted solution or the local installation option. The hosted solution means your TLD registry is managed on Minds + Machines servers in our secure Network Operations Center (NOC). Our engineers monitor registry data stability, while our network security partners can continually monitor the network for intrusions and bad actors.
We will upgrade the code for you whenever a new feature is developed. We work with registrars to ensure that they are connected and able to register in your name space, and with payment processing companies to ensure that your domain store is always open. The hosted option is recommended if you don’t have the time or expertise to run the technical side of a registry, allowing you the opportunity to spend your time developing the business side.
Local Installation — Strong Solution #2
Installing Espresso locally means you can manage your data on your own servers in your own NOC. You have complete control of access to the registry, the database, zone files, server up-time, and merchant processing systems. Installing locally is an excellent option for registry operators who want complete control, have expert network engineers and the technical skills to manage a domain registry. We support local installation by providing (and optionally installing) upgrades, providing training, and managing relationships with our partner companies.
